Product Description GREAT ITEM. FOR SUPER NINTENDO. WORKS GREAT. LOTS OF SUPER FUN. GREAT FOR COLLECTORS.The original Street Fighter II is a famous fighting game. Players select from one of eight characters: Ryu, Ken, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, Chun Li, Guile and Dhalsim to do battle with. They must then use their combat strengths to defeat the other seven fighters followed by four boss characters: M. Bison, Vega, Sagat and Balrog. Each character represents a certain country and has their own reasons for wanting to win against the others.
Each character contains his own selection of basic fighting techniques based on three styles of punches and three styles of kicks. The effect of each of these changes depending on the characters orientation (ducking, airborne or standing still). Street Fighter 2 made famous the "button combination" style of gameplay used to unleash powerful moves specific to each character. These include the ability to project fireballs, channel electricity or capture the opponent in a tight suplex.
Street Fighter 2 is one of the most cloned fighting games and its effects on gameplay and fighting games specifically can not be understated. Street Fighter 2 is responsible for making popular several different elements.

I suck at this game but its pretty amusing. It'd be better if you could play as vega like in streetfighter 2: turbo. still fun though
oh baby October 7, 2008 James Haynes (Canada) Street fighter is a classic and this order did not dissapoint. since it is the original street fighter 2 and in great working condition
Best 2-D Fighter to grace the console gaming world! September 17, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior is perhaps my favourite fighter of all time! It was the first definitive fighter to be released on console, and was second to none (still is in my opinion). With choice of 8 different characters each with their very own fighting techniques and styles, makes for an awesome array of varied battles, in other words no 2 fights will ever be the same! Another great feature about the game is that it is multiplayer. So get a friend around and challenge them until your heart's content. I'd have to disagree with a few of the other reviews on the subject of street fighter II turbo being the greatest SF of all time. I believe that SF: Championship Edition on the 'ye old arcades is probably the best. A touch faster in gameplay as opposed to SF II: The World Warrior, and the ability to choose the additional bosses. Thats enough rambling on my part! In conclusion, SF II: The World Warrior is most definitely a worthy game in anyone's collection! See for yourself.

I bought a Super Nintendo especily just for this game when it came out. It was the coolest game since MArio brothers to hit the curicuits. I loved the next version better (Turbo edition) but the best of them all is Super Street Fighter 2.
I really got out of the whole Street Fighter thing since SSF2Turbo. I have had very little interest in the Animie style it's gone towards since. Plus I cant keep up with them, there must be a million different versions of SF2 (because sf1; Fighting Street was not quite the same as this one) butthis is where it all started. And this is the true SF game that is responsable for all those clones of this game. But nothing compares to SSFII. It has since breathed new life again on the Gameboy advance. I cant remember what it's called, but it's pretty much the same with some new extras included, and Akuma.
